How to use the Polymesh Wallet

Access Polymesh Testnet using the Polymesh Wallet

The Polymesh Wallet allows testers to sign transactions and manage keys on Alycone. Go to alcyone-app.polymesh.live/#/accounts to view your balances of POLYX and security tokens, as well as initiating transactions of POLYX and security tokens. In the page titled Accounts, you can view your POLYX balance within each key you own.

Beyond seeing your POLYX balance, there are many other things you can do with this dashboard.

Finding your Polymesh ID

Your Polymesh ID is your unique identity on Polymesh that connects all your keys to a single ID. This ID starts with 0x and is where your security tokens and attestations (like your Customer Due Diligence check, KYC, and other attestations) are attached to. Although this ID can be found in our tools, like Token Studio on Polymesh, in the top right corner, you can also find this ID by going to alcyone-app.polymesh.live and follow these instructions:

  1. Navigate to the Chain State page using the navigation bar on the left
  2. Under Selected State Query, select Identity from the drop down menu. In the dropdown to the right, select keyToIdentityIds(AccountKey)
  3. Ensure that the “include option” toggle is blue, then you will be presented with your keys as options or you can double click in the field to enter a different Polymesh address
  4. Once you have selected a key from the drop-down menu or enter a different address, click on the blue plus button to the right.
  5. A new box will appear that will show your DID after the “unique:” label

Checking your Security Token balance

Go to tokenstudio.polymesh.live to create a security token and mint tokens to yourself. You can query your security token balance in the same page as above by changing the selected state query to Asset.

  1. In the dropdown to the right, select balanceOf (Ticker, IdentityID): Balance
  2. Under the field labelled Ticker, enter the ticker symbol of the security token you’d like to retrieve your balance for by entering the symbol in Hex.

    a. You can use this site https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/ascii-to-hex.html to find the hex of your ticker symbol. Make sure you enter it in uppercase and ensure there are no extra spaces or lines.
    b. When entering the Hex in the Ticker field in app.polymesh.live, prefix the Hex with 0x and paste the Hex, removing all spaces. It should look like this:

  1. Enter the DID you’d like to see the balance of
  2. Click on the blue plus button and you will see the security balance held by your identity.

Transferring assets to others

Now that you know how much POLYX and security tokens you have, you can transfer these balances to other Polymesh users.

Transfering POLYX

To transfer POLYX from one key to another, whether that is between two keys you own or to someone else, navigate to the Transfer page using the navigation bar on the left-side of the screen.

  2. If you’re sending POLYX between two keys that you own, select the receiving key in the send to address dropdown. Alternatively, if sending POLYX to someone else, enter their address (starting with 5) in this field.
  3. Enter the amount you wish to send in POLYX
  4. Click “Make Transfer” to be directed to transaction details
  5. Review the transaction detail and if it’s correct, Sign and Submit the transaction.
  6. Clicking Sign and Submit will trigger a transaction in your wallet extension that will require you to enter your password.
