Carol Van Cleef

Carol R. Van Cleef is an internationally recognized authority on and pioneer in legal issues involving cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Ms. Van Cleef is Chair of the Blockchain and Digital Assets practice at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. With a focus on regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters, Ms. Van Cleef has built a global reputation as a leading attorney, counsellor and problem solver working extensively across the financial services industry and throughout the cryptocurrency and blockchain communities. She represents virtual currency exchanges, blockchain developers, NFT creators and platforms, and various types of financial services and fintech companies. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Van Cleef serves as CEO of Luminous Group, a blockchain technology, growth advisory and risk management solutions company that also develops and delivers anti-money laundering and sanctions compliance training through the AML Training Institute. She also serves as an advisor to a number of early-stage companies in fintech and blockchain-related technologies. Ms. Van Cleef is a graduate of Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service (B.S.F.S) and received a Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law, American University. She is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

David Hackett

David Hackett has served as Chief Financial Officer for a number of public and private companies.  Mr. Hackett is a CPA, CA, and holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.  He currently provides board and advisory counsel to several high-growth entrepreneurial companies.

Previously, Mr. Hackett was CFO of Wake Network Inc. from 2021 to 2022, a company focused on fungi and plant-based medicine. From 2018 to 2021, he was CFO of 48North Cannabis Corp., a licensed cannabis producer. Prior to that, he was CFO of Mavencare, providing personalized home care services to keep seniors safe and independent at home, CFO of Coupgon, Canada’s first fully digital grocery coupon solution, CFO of Diversinet Corp., a software provider of mobile device security and authentication solutions for the healthcare market, and CFO of Aucxis Corp., a technology and service provider to electronic marketplaces. Mr. Hackett has also held senior financial management positions at EveryWare Development, Alliance Atlantis Communications, and Entertainment Information Services Ltd.

Deven Soni

Deven is an experienced operations executive and investor. He spent several years as a technology-focused investor at Goldman Sachs and Highland Capital Partners, investing over $200mm in technology growth and venture deals as a private equity investor. Deven has acquired and helped scale over 20 successful companies as a co-founder of Wired Investors (a tech-focused buyout fund), Snowball Industries (a home-services-focused holding company), and Acquira (an incubator focused on business acquisitions). He’s also an active digital asset investor and helped launch Tokens.com as its founding COO and CIO.

Vaibhav (“V”) Nalwaya

Vaibhav (“V”) Nalwaya is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Wavecrest Growth Partners. Vaibhav’s prior experience spans across both investing and operating roles in the B2B technology ecosystem.

Vaibhav was an investor at Vista Equity Partners’ Foundation Fund, where he focused on growth buyouts in B2B tech. Prior to Vista, he was a Principal at Key Venture Partners, a B2B tech-focused expansion stage capital firm backed by KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY).  During his time at Vista and Key, he invested in a variety of high-growth B2B software, telecom and business services companies across multiple industry verticals.

As an operator, Vaibhav served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Bluewolf, a founder-led, PE-backed high-growth B2B tech firm focused on the Salesforce.com ecosystem where he played an instrumental role in the company’s highly successful acquisition by IBM in early 2016. Vaibhav has also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Bullhorn, a founder-led, high-growth cloud CRM software company that was backed by Vista Equity Partners and was ultimately acquired by Insight Partners.

He started his business career at Deloitte, where he advised multinational clients on software/ERP strategies.

Vaibhav graduated with an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.

Prior to Polymath, Vincent was the CEO of Telepin Software Systems Inc, a fintech software company providing a disruptive digital wallet and payments platform for developed and emerging markets globally (acquired by Constellation Software Inc. (TSX:CSU).

He has also held CTO and founding positions at Airwide Solutions, a software provider in mobile messaging and security software for the telecoms industry (acquired by Mavenir). Vincent is also a member of the Governing Council of the Polymesh Association, an institutional–grade permissioned blockchain built specifically for regulated assets.

Melanie Pump

Melanie Pump, Chief Financial Officer

Melanie leads finance, HR and compliance for Polymath Research. She ensures the organization has best-in-class financial and corporate governance infrastructure to meet the needs of the market and achieve sustainable growth.

Prior to Polymath, Melanie was the CFO of Brane Inc., a technology service provider for digital asset custody. In addition to other senior finance roles, she also served as the CFO of Incognito Software Systems, a global telecom software provider (acquired by Constellation Software Inc. (TSX:CSU). Melanie is also on the boards of Brane Trust Company and Mobio Technologies (TSX-V:MBO).

Joanne Kiskis

Joanne Kiskis, Head of Marketing

Joanne is a highly effective marketing executive with over 20 years of experience in developing and executing strategic, integrated marketing plans resulting in maximized demand generation, market awareness, and tangible ROI contribution. She excels in stakeholder consensus building, leading inter-departmental initiatives from high-level business concept to tangible working and system level implementation. Among her many accomplishments, Joanne successfully led and executed an $800,000 web seminar program responsible for having influence on an average of $18 million in business per year. Additionally, she is an experienced program developer, effectively managing dozens of product releases from a marketing perspective.

Brian D. Sawyer

Brian D. Sawyer, Head of Product Strategy

Brian has led successful national and international blockchain-based startups over the past four years, and these deep relationships have given him unique insight into market trends and objectives. He has functioned as an interim C-suite executive within numerous mid-sized companies, gaining broad operational, financial and technical experience. He has done extensive R&D and product design for many Silicon Valley technology firms. Brian holds a Master’s Degree in both Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering.
