How to import your key to the new Polymesh Wallet

The new Polymesh Wallet is available to install.

Accessing your account in the new Polymesh Wallet

When you first open the Polymesh Wallet extension you will see a welcome page with the ability to create a new account, restore your account with your recovery phase or import your account with a JSON file.

Note: We suggest you do not delete the Polkadot.JS or Polymesh Testing Wallet until you’ve completed setting up the Polymesh Wallet.

welcome to the polymesh wallet UI

Of the three options available in the welcome screen, two of the options allow you to access your existing accounts that you may have created using the Polymesh Testing Wallet or the Polkadot.js Wallet:

a. Restoring your account using a recovery phrase

restoring your account with your recovery phase UI

The way to access your account through a recovery phrase is to input your 12- word seed phrase you received when you created your account on the Polymesh Testing Wallet or Polkadot.JS Wallet. You may recognize the screens below from that account creation.

Once you enter your seed phrase, you will be directed to this screen where you can enter:

  • an account name to help you distinguish this account from others; and
  • a new password (this will be your Wallet password for all your accounts in the Polymesh Wallet)

Once you’ve completed restoring your account, you’ll be taken to the main page of the wallet extension where you can see everything related to your Polymesh Account, including your account key, account name, and account balance.
